This was FOSS Backstage 2026

It's a wrap! Highlights and impressions from this years' conference

The second day of FOSS Backstage has wrapped up, bringing to a close two days filled with insightful sessions and fruitful discussions. Thanks to everyone who took part in the eighth edition of !

This year, we welcomed around 300 participants, both in person and online, who took part in 50 sessions across three stages. Through our streaming platform Venueless, attendees from around the world were able to join.

A special thank you goes out to all our speakers for their inspiring talks, panels, and workshops.

We’re also grateful to the excellent tech team at Covalent and our recording partner, Open Source Collective. Thanks to their support, all sessions will be available on our YouTube channel by the end of next week.

Other highlights of the program included our Get-Together, generously sponsored by E.ON, as well as the Lightning Talks session with six short presentations on a range of topics. Recordings of the Lightning Talks will also be available on our YouTube channel next week. We’d like to thank everyone who submitted ideas – and of course, Powen Shiah for his wonderful moderation.

On day two, we started the day with the FOSS eGov Breakfast, bringing together professionals from Open Source projects and the public sector. The gathering was co-organized by NEGZ.

Thanks to our breakfast partner, SerNet, and our coffee break partners, Grafana Labs and Sang Engineering,  attendees were able to enjoy delicious breakfast and water, tea, coffee and soft drinks throughout the conference.
