We kicked off the first day of FOSS Backstage with our keynote speaker Æva Black with the question “Can Open Source be Secure by Design?“. Æva spoke about the history of under-investing in FOSS cybersecurity, the Cyber Resilience Act and how to improve security across the ecosystem.

Participants could enjoy 20 talks and workshops across three stages. Recordings of our sessions will be uploaded to our YouTube channel by the end of next week.

Our Lightning Talks session at this year’s FOSS Backstage, hosted by Powen Shiah , allowed attendees to share their short ideas, pitches and more about free and open-source software in 5-minute presentations. The recordings will be uploaded to our YouTube channel as well.

We wrapped up the day with our Get-Together, enjoying tasty snacks and drinks, kindly sponsored by our partner, E.ON.
Be sure to follow the #FOSSBack in the Fediverse to get more impressions from the community!
We look forward to many more insightful sessions and conversations tomorrow on day 2 of FOSS Backstage!
